The author has tried over forty years to push the boundaries of original needlepoint design whilst keeping faith with a British tradition of including words in the design of the sewn work. With forty-nine illustrations (in colour if downloaded to tablet readers) the work takes form in cushions, contemporized samplers and wall hangings, covering bed heads and panels. The poetry spans a lifetime, the first written circa 1967, the last a tribute written in 2014 to a great-Uncle killed in 1917 in the First World War.
