Description
Fish are an important part of a healthy diet. They are a lean, low-calorie source of protein. However, some fish may contain chemicals that could pose health risks (EPA). The Water Quality Control Division (WQCD), in conjuction with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), and CDPHE Disease Control and Environmental Epidemiology Division (DCEED), conducts an on-going study aimed at investigating the presence of certain contaminants (such as mercury, arsenic and selenium) in fish that can potentially be consumed by the people of Colorado.
