Description
This report summarizes the findings of sixty interviews conducted with Pueblo, Colorado natives during the summer of 1978. The purpose of the project was to compile an oral history of the community, by interviewing people in a number of subject areas: Family History, Neighborhoods, Education, Employment, History, Ethnicity, and Traditions. The project was an outgrowth of an earlier set of interviews focusing on ethnicity in Pueblo. The report duscusses the methodology of oral history as a research tool and its effectiveness in providing a more personal view of the local cummunity than is obtainable from other research methods. The report is actually of secondary value when compared to the taped interviews from which it is derived. It provides a sampling of the kind of information that the oral history technique can provide, and opens up areas for further research.
